Our founder and CEO, Jen Lexmond, shares her delight at the new appointment of Kurt Long to the EasyPeasy Board as a non-executive director.

Jen: "I met Kurt on a mountainside in the French Alps, hiking from Tignes to Chamonix, and during perhaps the toughest physical feat I’ve ever tackled: an all-in-one-day 140km road cycle with over 3000 meters of climbing, followed by five days of hiking.

Kurt was there to help raise money and awareness as part of Virgin Strive, an annual event put on by Big Change. Big Change is a charity set up by a group of friends, including Holly and Sam Branson and HRH Princess Beatrice, to drive positive systems change in education.

I was there because Big Change generously supports EasyPeasy and our work in the early years. And, frankly, because they asked me to while I was on stage speaking at one of their events! I couldn’t really find anywhere to hide..."

Kurt has founded three technology companies. His most recent, FairWarning, provides data protection and governance for electronic health records, Salesforce, Office 365, and hundreds of other cloud applications.

Through his work, Kurt has developed a working definition of an entrepreneur - someone who brings a vision into reality, while simultaneously generating value in the lives of all people around him.

Having sold FairWarning in 2018, Kurt is now focused on finding and supporting entrepreneurs who meet this definition through his new outfit, Ventures with Meaning.

I’m proud that Kurt has also chosen to invest in our team and vision at EasyPeasy!"

Kurt Long:"EasyPeasy is the rare opportunity to invest in a growing business that combines great leadership, great purpose and a great financial opportunity.

EasyPeasy's mission to develop children from an early age so that they are fully prepared to excel in school and life is inspirational. I am fully committed to assisting the team in expanding the positive impact of their business throughout the United Kingdom and worldwide, as they grow!"

- Kurt Long, Non-Executive Director, EasyPeasy

Jen: "Over the coming months and years as we scale our impact at EasyPeasy, I will be working towards embodying that shared vision of true entrepreneurship. I have always believed that social and environmental purpose lies at the heart of any organisation.

At EasyPeasy, whilst our strategy will shift as we learn, our vision that every child deserves an equal opportunity to fulfil their potential, and our mission to help parents give their children the very best start in life, will continue to drive us.

Crucially, we believe that the best way to achieve these goals is to do it together. That’s why we see our community not just as our team and employees, but also our users, customers, funders, and shareholders. Ultimately, partners in this mission."
