SEN Guidance and Support for Parents and Caregivers: now on the EasyPeasy app

Parenting a young child comes with its joys and challenges, and for parents and caregivers of children with special educational needs (SEN), the journey can be even more complex.

At EasyPeasy, we believe every family deserves the right support at the right time. That’s why we’re excited to announce the launch of our brand new feature, SEN resources for parents and caregivers, available now in the EasyPeasy app.

Our new SEN resources are designed to offer guidance, reassurance, and practical ideas you can try at home; no specialist training required, no jargon, and no judgement.

Update your app today and explore the new SEN resources—because every child deserves the best start in life.

Why now?

The number of children with identified SEN is rising across England, especially in the early years. At the same time, we know that families are facing long waits for assessments and access to specialist services. For many, this can be an isolating and frustrating experience.

Our SEN feature is designed to fill some of the gaps, offering bite-sized, expert-informed tips and play ideas tailored to a wide range of needs, including communication, social interaction, sensory processing, and emotional regulation.

Whether your child has a formal diagnosis or you’re simply exploring ways to support their development, you’ll find activities and advice to help you transform everyday parenting moments into playful learning experiences.

"I have an autistic daughter who is older than my son, but I’ve realised a lot of her needs are much like those of a younger age and the app has helped find activities that they can both enjoy with me at the same time... It’s helped with communication between the three of us and just understanding both children a little better." - EasyPeasy caregiver

What's new?

Here’s what’s included:

  • SEN adaptations: Practical guidance and advice on how to modify an EasyPeasy activity to suit children with different needs.
  • Accessibility considerations: Tips on using visual aids, managing sensory sensitivities, reducing noise levels, applying calming techniques, using simple language, and providing positive encouragement.
  • Easy navigation: A dedicated topic area that contains all SEN-adapted content, making it easier to explore our library of activities.

We started this work with a small group of early years practitioners in 2025, who helped us test and improve new ways of supporting children with special educational needs through EasyPeasy. Later that year, we launched our first set of around 30 activities with extra SEN guidance for parents and carers.

Since then, we’ve continued to build on this based on feedback from families and professionals. As of early 2026, EasyPeasy now includes over 700 activities with tailored advice to help support children with different needs, making it easier for parents and carers to adapt everyday play and learning in ways that work for their child.
