What’s new?
We’ve reviewed and improved our Family Information Services (FIS) content to make it easier and more useful for families and practitioners alike. Here’s what you can expect:
- Clear coverage of key support areas – including topics like early language, nutrition and weight management, and SEND, which are now fully represented.
- High-quality resources only – each service area now has up to 4 of the most relevant and reliable links, so you don’t have to sift through out-of-date information.
- Trusted national sources – we’ve prioritised organisations like the NHS, GOV.UK, NSPCC, Mind, and Tommy’s, so you know the information you’re getting is accurate and evidence-based.
- Smarter signposting – everything has been mapped to EasyPeasy’s new topic system, so the app can show you the right resources at the right time, based on your child’s stage or your interests.
So, whether you’re a parent looking for practical support or a practitioner signposting families to extra help, having reliable information at your fingertips makes a real difference. The refreshed EasyPeasy FIS content experience is designed to save you time, reduce confusion, and connect you with the services that matter most.

What is Family Information Services (FIS)?
Every local council in England provides a Family Information Service (FIS). This is a trusted, free service that helps families find out about the support available in their local area.
Family Information Services bring together everything from childcare and early education options to health advice, SEND support, parenting programmes, and local activities. They’re designed to make life easier for families by providing clear signposting in one place. Family Information Services typically cover children and young people aged from birth to 19 years, with an extension to 25 years for those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
By including FIS content directly in the EasyPeasy app, we’re making it even simpler for parents and carers to access this support. Whether you’re looking for practical help, financial guidance, or activities for your little ones, you’ll now see the most relevant information at your fingertips – right alongside your EasyPeasy activities and advice.
